The Last Priestess by Elizabeth Baxter

I would like to welcome Elizabeth Baxter to her Bite Sized Blog Tour for her novel The Last Priestess …
Elizabeth Baxter has always loved big, sprawling fantasy epics that tell of good versus evil. These kind of tales inspired her latest novel “The Last Priestess.”
This tale is about the King’s Mage seeking to find a way to destroy the Songmaker who is intent on unleashing Chaotic magic throughout the Realms. Meanwhile, Maegwin finds herself caught up in this power struggle against her will, whilst within her wages a different war.
Elizabeth is very disciplined in her approach to novel writing. She writes a general outline of the entire story. Then she plans each scene as she starts writing, visualising it in her head, as if she were watching it on film. Then she writes down what she sees.
The Last Priestess was drafted four times in total and five or six people beta-read the manuscript for her. (She belongs to several fantastic writing groups).
Although she hadn’t planned to put a message across through The Last Priestess, the message that seems to have emerged is that although we all have our inner demons, this shouldn’t stop us from striving to be the best we can be.
Good news folks! Elizabeth is currently finishing “King’s Mage” Book 2 of The Songmaker and sequel to The Last Priestess! And what can we expect from the next book? Maegwin and Rovann set out to find the Songmaker and to rescue Prince Owen. They find the mystery around the Songmaker deepening, their own role in events becomes more convoluted and they discover some unexpected allies along the way.
I can’t wait! If you haven’t yet read The Last Priestess, you need to, before King’s Mage is on sale.

Alas my only writers groups are on the net…
The one town is more ‘radically’ led by gent who is more of a rooster than part of a flock. But that may have changed…
Time to look into it again.
Good luck Elizabeth with all of your books and writing.

Ah how I miss the writer’s groups. I really need to find one I can participate in while abroad. Good luck with the work, Liz!
