Escape Pod Emulation: Frank Makes An Escape!
Here, at last, is another Escape Pod Interview for you all to sample! Please join me in welcoming Francis Franklin to his very own EPod… What will he choose to take with him in this adventure? Find out more about the back story at Escape Pod Emulation!
My head ringing from the reverberations of the hull and the screaming of sirens, the hideous noises of a battle I know nothing about and that seems to be over before it even began, I barely squeeze myself into my uniform when the order is given to abandon ship. I have only a few seconds to spare.
I have of late taken an interest in archery, and the escape pod will be just big enough to stand and draw, so I take my bow and arrows… though I suppose the target will have to be impossibly close and the recoil will send me spinning in my weightless confinement.
Because misery loves company, I take my model of my favourite superhero, and will let her fly about the pod while I cackle evilly, “At last I have you at a disadvantage, Supergirl, you are too far from Earth’s yellow sun!”
My bookshelves being full of unfinished books, and this being the perfect opportunity to finally finish one, I snatch up Ken Dowden’s Death and the Maiden.
For companionship, I take my personal sexbot – but, given the lack of space (oh, how ironic!), just her personality: I’ll need someone to laugh at my jokes and let me win at chess.
Finally… my nice, warm, fluffy blanket, because it’s cold out there in space.

Francis Franklin lives in Newcastle upon Tyne with his beautiful wife and daughter. By day he is a university lecturer, but in between work and family he finds time to read, write and blog. He is interested in unusual human nature, such as non-binary gender and sexuality, or the interplay of dark and light in the transformation of human to vampire.

Having read Frank’s blog for a while I found this both surprising and intriguing:
For companionship, I take my personal sexbot – but, given the lack of space (oh, how ironic!), just her personality: I’ll need someone to laugh at my jokes and let me win at chess.

Reblogged this on Francis James Franklin (Alina Meridon) and commented:
In space, no one can hear you scream, so what five things would you take with you in an escape pod to keep you sane while you’re not busy screaming?
