pink little stoma rosebud bright
innocently gleams in the light
who could believe such pure flesh
could vomit forth such filthiness?

to see through a glass darkly, mirror, of course, but what if
it also meant a window, grimed, muddy with mortality
only when you pass beyond, does the view at last make sense
