The Butterfly Tree – cover reveal

28 March, 2020

This is the cover for my forthcoming short story collection: The Butterfly Tree!

What do you think?

I’m planning on launching The Butterfly Tree in May – will you buy it?!

Thank you for following my journey through Clouds – I hope you enjoyed the paintings I produced to accompany my quest!

Over the summer I won’t be blogging quite as much; every 2 weeks or so. I’m exploring the different Gardens I’ve known over the years in short prose, as well as posting some of my poster paint experiments on paper!

Over at my other blog, Pure Haiku, my guests and I will be exploring the theme of Translucence from 1st April! Why don’t you join us there?

For the next few weeks I’ll be taking a blogging break and I look forward to catching up with you all on your blogs at the beginning of May!

The Day of Weird – cover reveal

8 January, 2020

What do you think of the front cover for my next paperback?

The Day of Weird Paperback Cover

The Day of Weird Paperback Cover

The Day of Weird contains the first 3 volumes of The Kaerling; Silver Fire, Ambassador and An Ancient Song.

If, like me, you prefer the feel of a real book in your hands and the smell of newly printed paper – this one will be available in a couple of weeks time!

Once again, Jonathon B. Hoyt has designed the jacket, using a sketch from Kombmaker’s unique collection.

Like the first three e-books, the paperback has a grey cover and I think Kombmaker’s sketch captures the countryside of Falna through which Otta and Erl travel.

What do you think? Will you be buying it?!

On a different note, don’t forget that Pure Haiku is opening early this year for haiku submissions. There are 3 themes and the submissions windows will open in January, February and March for each theme. To find out more, please visit Pure Haiku and sign up to receive notifications when submissions are being accepted!

Due to time constraints, I’m posting shorter blog posts this year. Over the next few months I’ll be sharing some “small stones” and paintings about Clouds. The paintings may not always match the words!

And finally, my Newsletter has undergone a huge makeover! If you’re not already signed up, please sign up for this monthly freebie HERE. My Newsletters are now shorter and will appear each month. (Don’t worry, I’m still giving away one short story each year in three episodes!) Find out why my current subscribers love reading my Newsletter!

An Ancient Song Volume Three of The Kaerling Series

An Ancient Song Volume Three of The Kaerling Series

Here it is! This is the e-book cover for Volume Three in The Kaerling series. What do you think?

I’ll be launching An Ancient Song in a couple of weeks’ time along with a video about it. In this volume, I’ll be revealing the truth about the mysterious “Unicorn’s Trail” and what  it really means for Otta and Erl!

If you’ve not yet come across my series, The Kaerling, Volume One, Silver Fire, is still available as a FREE Download and Volume Two, Ambassador, is available for just $1 at a variety of online stores.

Elizabeth Leaper has written an excellent review about the first two books at The Wobbly Dum Dum Tree!

If you love fantasy and enjoy reading about people who are flawed yet heroic, you’ll love this series!

Recovering

11 May, 2018
absorbed in crafting
words and weaving sentences
I forget the time
emptied of emotion
hollow heart blank
stone ventricles
a desire to feel
yearning for the positive
dreaming of sensation
I am recovering
