23 September, 2018
This is the third way I’m giving back …
I believe strongly in giving back to the writing community. And my Newsletter is one way of giving something free to my followers. If you have read my books, read my blog regularly and just can’t get enough of my writing, then you need to sign up for my Newsletter.

Not only do you receive a free short story every year through the Newsletter, you get to read unpublished poetry as well as getting a glimpse into my real life.
All you have to do is to send an email to dragonscaleclippings@gmail.com with “Request Clippings” in the subject line and you will be sent a pdf copy of my quarterly Newsletter. Your email will never be passed on or sold to anyone else.
The story that began in The Essence of Thyme and continued in The Oil of Sage, will conclude in The Attar of Chervil!

Quirky, intriguing fairy tales!

15 September, 2018

It’s nearly Christmas! Have you stocked up yet on your holiday reading? If you haven’t, here are some suggestions that will only cost you $1 each …
If you enjoy quirky, different stories, may I suggest Xmas @ Camelot II ? It contains 10 tales of varying length, covering a variety of worlds. The stories within the volume explore Transitions, Choices and Virtual Reality …
But if you prefer romance and intrigue, why don’t you give The Essence of Thyme a try? It’s a re-working of Sleeping Beauty with two women trying wake a sleeping Prince …
And finally, if you enjoy reading fairy tales at Christmas, then I suggest The Rusalka Ritual & Other Stories. These are fairy tales with a feminist twist to them and, like traditional fairy tales, they don’t always end as you would expect!

All 3 books are available as ebooks and The Rusalka Ritual is also available to buy as a paperback.
Whatever you read, have a wonderful, enjoyable Christmas!

“I think it’s werewolves and vampires…” Parsley moaned.
“… and horrible beasties!” Dracomagan appeared in the gloom, leggings gleaming. She grinned.
“Can’t see there’s anything to smile about,” grumbled Parsley. “Is there another way round?”
“No. One path leads to a blind canyon with no way over it and the other way just dumps you in that raging river we crossed yesterday. So, the quickest way to Nimue, is through that.”
Dracomagan pointed at the green gloaming and led the way forwards …

This is the beginning of my FREE short story, The Attar of Chervil. The tale began in The Essence of Thyme and continued in The Oil of Sage but each story stands alone. Writing – 3

22 July, 2014
colourless day, brown-grey-white, the landscape is indistinct, it does not draw my eye or hold my gaze. I retreat inwards, searching for colour in my imagination
