glad sound of water running, dripping, trickling, splashing into gutter where the reflection of drops catches on the weatherboard in the first sunlight for days

If you like a bit of Romance mixed in with your Fantasy reading, why don’t you try my Isu Magan novels? Until tomorrow, Vintrig’s Throne is just 99c!!!!

And, if you fancy reading a story for free, check out my tale entitled, “Eldr Orvar” over at Swords & Sorcery Magazine! Make sure you read it now, as I’m not sure how long it will appear for.

Clippings 9 – An Experiment

3 July, 2013
do I see me? – or am I a stranger?
that familiar face – is it mine?
impassive expression – not revealing emotion
These are the first three lines of my poem Re-flection. You can read the entire poem (and see the beautiful painting created by Jonathon B. Hoyt) in my June newsletter in which I have included a short excerpt from book 3 of The Future.
I also write about an experiment I am conducting – on myself. For a month I am going to be Without Words. I am not going to write or read anything. If you’re wondering why you haven’t heard from me recently, that’s why. I’m not ignoring you. Do you think I am mad to do this? Or have you “fasted” from words too? I would be really interested to hear people’s opinions and experiences.
If you already subscribe to my newsletter, you should have received an email with the link last month. If you haven’t, please let me know. I am currently on holiday, but will reply to all emails from mid-July onwards.
If you would like to read my newsletter please send an email to dragonscaleclippings (at) gmail (dot) com Subscribe Clippings in the subject line.
If you feel the need to feedback, all comments are welcome!

Wednesday Words – Calm

8 May, 2013
Something I noticed today; I don’t get all uptight and fly off the handle at something minor any more. Why? Am I just so tired and worn out I haven’t got the energy? Or is it because I’m portioning out my time better? I don’t set myself impossible targets any more. On the surface I feel annoyed sometimes, but inside I’m calm.
