Quirky, intriguing fairy tales!

15 September, 2018

It’s nearly Christmas! Have you stocked up yet on your holiday reading? If you haven’t, here are some suggestions that will only cost you $1 each …
If you enjoy quirky, different stories, may I suggest Xmas @ Camelot II ? It contains 10 tales of varying length, covering a variety of worlds. The stories within the volume explore Transitions, Choices and Virtual Reality …
But if you prefer romance and intrigue, why don’t you give The Essence of Thyme a try? It’s a re-working of Sleeping Beauty with two women trying wake a sleeping Prince …
And finally, if you enjoy reading fairy tales at Christmas, then I suggest The Rusalka Ritual & Other Stories. These are fairy tales with a feminist twist to them and, like traditional fairy tales, they don’t always end as you would expect!

All 3 books are available as ebooks and The Rusalka Ritual is also available to buy as a paperback.
Whatever you read, have a wonderful, enjoyable Christmas!

Freya’s Novels

25 April, 2018

It’s nearly the summer holidays! Have you stocked up yet on your summer reading? If you haven’t, here are some suggestions …
If you enjoy romance and dark magic mixed with intrigue in a fantastical setting, can I suggest my Isu Magan series? Both books are available as ebooks and paperbacks. Vintrig’s Kingdom ($3) begins the tale of Isu Magan, a lonely princess who is the only heir to the kingdom’s founder. Her life is bound by taboo and she is content not to marry until she meets the travelling musician, Sama Conn, and falls in love with him.
The sequel, Vintrig’s Throne ($3) concludes the tale, but not before Isu’s hopes have been raised and then cruelly dashed. Although she is crowned queen, Isu finds herself on trial for her life and only one thing can save her; The Law of Substitution!
But if you prefer humourous novels, then perhaps Dragonscale Leggings might be more suitable for you. But, I have to warn you, it is a dangerous book to read. Why? Because if you don’t have a sense of humour, hate strong female leads and don’t like fantasy worlds, you’ll be wasting your time reading it!

This is chick-lit in a fantasy world. Think Alice in Wonderland meets Bridget Jones’ Diary. Come and adventure with Dracomagan and her trusty stallion, Tygar, as they travel through the Otherworld, trying to find her memory, evade Merlin and keep on the right side of the law.
At present, Dragonscale Leggings ($3) is only available as an ebook – the paperback should be out by Christmas 2018! Happy Reading!

Xmas @ Camelot II

8 January, 2018

If you thought Christmas was over, think again! Here are 10 weird and wonderful tales from my fertile imagination!
This is the first collection in my Dragonscale Diffusions series. These are stories which may involve Dracomagan, or, they may not be about her at all! The tales in Xmas @ Camelot II vary in length from 50 words to 2,660! So you can dip in and out of them whenever you have time. And don’t worry, these stories take you through the seasons, they’re not all about Christmas!
If you’ve enjoyed my novels Vintrig’s Kingdom and Vintrig’s Throne, you’ll love to discover the prose tales of The Slaying of Jormungund and the full length version of the Snow Bear. If you like Dragonscale Leggings, you can indulge your love of Dracomagan in both Trapped and Xmas @ Camelot II.
The themes within these tales centre around Transitions, Shape Shifters, Choices and Virtual Reality. Turning Point is a short Freudian study of light and dark and Lie In is my take on a popular fairy tale. Ariel is my interpretation of Shakespeare’s play, The Tempest, whilst Animal explores the complicated world of shape-shifting. And, Taking Root, is another interpretation of an old, old manuscript and Norsemare is a wry glance at the world of gaming …
Dare to walk the paths of darkness and light, explore your reactions to the choices my characters make!
It is available NOW at Amazon UK, Amazon US, Kobo, Barnes&Noble and iTunes.
As always, there’s a VERY short video about this collection at YouTube
Currently only available as an e-book, the paperback will be released in the future once I’ve published several more Dragonscale Diffusions!
