Cloven Hoofs & Ancient Heroes

above clouded skies

his cloven hoofs step boldly

in gaps between stars

this silvered constellation

haunting my dreams, my nightmares

Haldron, Brennain’s son, Hero of Battles

Fleeing the rout on the far red fields,

Slaying a chieftain, a Spear Thane sacred,

Pursued by the perilous dwarrows …

Both these poems are excerpts from my recently published book of poetry – My Mythology. If you prefer to read poetry on the page, this volume is included within my anthology, This Is Me.

You can watch the video about My Mythology at YouTube! And if you like video-poetry, check out Alien Watching and Compost Ghoul – both of which appear in this book!

My Mythology

14 February, 2019

My Mythology is now available to buy online!

If you prefer a paperback, you can find this volume as part of my paperback collection, This Is Me.

I’m releasing an e-version of My Mythology today because I know that a lot of people prefer e-books to paperbacks. I like both!

In volume two of Dragonscale Delvings, I deal with both serious and humorous matters. Death makes its way into my poems, understandably. But my flippant sense of humour is never far away – take Elf-conscious and Zombie Mushrooms, for instance.

I enjoy writing both short forms and epic poetry and you can find both kinds in this volume. Get a glimpse into my world of Nirunen, discover its historical characters that provide the background to my fantasy series, The Kaerling.

Some people think that poetry is just for poetic people. I don’t agree. Poetry is for everyone, whether or not you write it. My poetry is accessible, you don’t need a degree in English to read my work.

Take a look at the video about this volume at YouTube!

If you like video-poetry, check out Alien Watching and Compost Ghoul – both of which appear in this book!

And when you’ve had a chance to read My Mythology, I would love to know what you think about it!

Available at Amazon US, Amazon UK, Apple, Nook, Kobo and other online stores.

Transformed ends…

28 January, 2016
Thank you for travelling with me as I introduced my new form poetry, freyan verse, to the world.
I hope you have enjoyed reading my poems Transformed and Fishers. If you would like to have a go at writing your own freyan verse, I would love to see them.
For now, though, I will be taking a break from Dragonscale Clippings until the end of March. Tomorrow I start blogging again over at Pure Haiku where my guests and I will be writing on the theme of Spheres… I hope you can join us there.
