Vintrig’s Kingdom

28 November, 2016

The countdown has ended! Today is THE day!
At last – my new novel is available!
If you’re looking for a good book to read on a cold winter’s night, this is the novel for you! The tale combines romance, mystery, enchantment, eternal winter, treachery and a struggle for power. What more could you want?
Isu Magan is the central character. She is a virgin princess beset by taboos and waiting for her coronation day, when she will, at last, gain control of Vintrig’s Kingdom. But many things distract her, not least the itinerant musician, Sama Conn (remember him from Dragonscale Leggings?) and a Journal that appears to contradict her Counsellor’s view of history…
This is an unusual fantasy novel. The plot does not revolve around a physical quest to gain or lose an object of power. Instead, this story is about the journey of a soul to distinguish truth from lie and to discover who she really is …
It is available NOW at Amazon UK and Amazon US.
This time I’ve created two short videos at Vintrig’s Kingdom and Freya Reads an Extract. You can also read the first 3 chapters for free at Amazon.
Currently available as an e-book, the paperback will be released in 2017.
Please feel free to share and re-blog this post!

Wednesday Words – My New Journal

2 September, 2015
My new Journal; clad in dragonscales, each new white page a welcome purity to carve my creativity.
A new Journal; my writing is neat and even, for now.
I lay out the structure of my freyan verse on the first page. I know it will take at least five days to write. One verse, each day, writing haiku and elfje from each “clipping verse”. Multiple poems on the same theme, looking at one thing in slightly different ways.
New verse form, a slow, considered way of writing poetry, whilst keeping the discipline of haiku and elfje.
