Breathtaking, intense, profound …

Today I would like to share with you some feedback that I received from Italian poet, Claudia Messelodi, regarding my poetry collection, Vampirical Verse, published last November.

I read it all and found it breathtaking; what an intense, profound read, so insightful and penetrating. I was able to see myself and the toughest parts of my life reflected in the verses, and, I must admit, I felt less lonely after reading it.

Thank you, Freya, for sharing such hardships you had to endure, it can’t have been easy, but I am sure the process of writing accompanies and enhances that of healing. Writing leads certainly to introspective and deep self-analysis in the first place, but also to salvation eventually.

Vampirical Verse goes through the experience of brokenness and leads in the end to the rediscovery of our primordial strength, innate energy and power; it’s the triumph of life after death, of belief after inner destruction.

We, as broken people, feel more… Our deaths are excruciatingly painful, but our ‘resurrections’ are victories. We are survivors, able to look death in the face and not give up our fight towards rebirth.” C Messelodi
